Lunar Halo

When atmospheric conditions are right, the light from the moon actually refracts enough to create a "halo" effect. This isn't terribly uncommon, it's just that most people don't look up at the night sky. Sometimes, if you make a habit of observing everything around you, you'll be surprised by something fantastic like this!
